Data Center & System Installation for ENSEC
Emirates National Securitization Corporation (“ENSEC”) is a semi government organisation created to establish a secondary mortgage finance system for both residential and commercial mortgages in the UAE. Established first in Dubai, ENSEC is a joint venture between and among entities controlled by Istithmar World (a Dubai World company, which is in turn 100% owned by the Government of Dubai), DIB, Island Emirates Holdings LLC, and Pender Ltd. ENSEC's ultimate objective is to establish itself as the conduit for real estate securitisation in the region.
The business challenge:
Given its scope of operations, ENSEC was looking to expand its business activities that would mandate a complete control over self-owned IT facilities. However, the IT infrastructure at that point was not capable of supporting future growth as expansion and faced a number of shortcomings including the lack of security and transparency; no control on IT operations and infrastructure; unable to support future upgrades in technology and required significant investments to beef up current IT network. ENSEC was also heavily reliant on PCFC that was supplying networking and support to the organization for their day to day need. With a view to change this scenario, ENSEC contracted TEXPO to plan and deliver a complete scalable and self controlled IT solution for ENSEC that included the supply of IT hardware and installation of all the necessary software on that hardware to enable an end-to-end solution for ENSEC’s IT infrastructure. The focus was on enabling a solution that would not only serve their current needs, but also help ENSEC to grow and adopt new technology without needing to make further capital re-investments in the future.
Services delivered:
“TEXPO worked closely with the IT team at ENSEC to help them meet their current as well as the future demands of their business by offering solutions that enabled scalability and the adoption of new technologies in the environment. What we delivered to them was a complete self-owned IT facility that they could manage and control in-house,” said Dr Sarfaraz Alam, CEO, TEXPO.
The solutions delivered included the Proliant DL 380 rack server and was installed with, Windows 2003, ISA Standard Server 2004, MS Exchange Server etc.
The benefits:
The installation helped ENSEC smoothly transfer data from the user to the servers and vice versa without the risk of downtime. As a semi-government organisation, security and reliability were also key factors for ENSEC and the new IT infrastructure and network enabled the organization to have complete control on the infrastructure.“The role of a solution provider today has changed from just implementing hardware and software solutions to business consulting. The partner must be able to guide and build the infrastructure keeping in mind the business goals of an organization. This is exactly what we helped ENSEC achieve,” added Dr Sarfaraz Alam, CEO of TEXPO.
